As you already know, SterilMattress believes everyone should be sleeping on clean, hygienic mattresses and bedding. I have witnessed, with proof-positive results, the healthful benefits of my family, friends, and customers, who can now spend one-third of their life sleeping on allergen-free or hypo-allergenic mattresses and bedding. Thanks to the Internet, knowledge of the need to control dust mites is virally growing and the general public is receptive to the knowledge.
Aside from the Internet, television commercials continue to educate the North American population of the need to remove allergens from indoor environments. Both, Trane and Tempur-pedic Mattresses, have joined the advertising blitz concerning the need to control dust mites started several months ago by Sharper Image, SC Johnson, Filtrete, vacuum manufacturer’s, Bissel, Oreck, and Dyson, and others, as noted in past newsletters.
The TV commercials continue to promote products that supposedly resolve the problem of dust mites. However, in each case, the products being aggressively promoted are nothing more than an over-hyped, reactive, “defensive” or “cover up” attempt, to resolve the problem of poor indoor air quality and indoor allergens.
Now is an opportune time to “piggy-back” on the efforts of major corporations that are spending $millions on TV, advertising their lame products to address the dust mite concern and to use those commercials to work for your business! It’s basically cost-free advertising…advertising the need for the services!

Media outlets, under the control of the FCC, must allocate a certain amount of air time to promote PSA’s. Anyone in the “Indoor Allergen Removal/Mattress Cleaning” business should immediately call their local media outlets and ask to have these PSA’s broadcasted to local residents.
Dust mite allergens (DMA’s) are still, and probably always will be, the #1 indoor allergen.

Xyzal: A New Antihistamine Approved by the FDA On May 30, 2007, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Xyzal, an antihistamine, for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria in people age 6 years and older. This medication has been available in Europe for the past 6 years, and is very similar to Zyrtec in how it works. This is a very exciting development, as Xyzal is the first new oral antihistamine approved by the FDA in a number of years. Xyzal gives people with severe allergies another treatment option to combat their symptoms. Because Xyzal has a similar chemical structure to Zyrtec, it is expected that this medication will work at least as well as Zyrtec. And, Xyzal causes less sleepiness than Zyrtec. Dust mites are also getting widespread exposure with the ever popular and increasing numbers of “blogs” or “web logs” created by individuals. Again, way too many too mention here.
My SterilMattress business has been evolving and staying current with the times of today.
